"Black Ice" debuted at the number 1 spot in 29 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, France, Japan, Australia, Belgium, Finland, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland.
The album has sold 780,000 units in its first week in the States. It is their first #1 album in the US since 1981's "For Those About To Rock" and in the UK since 1980's "Back In Black." It is their first #1 debut in both countries as well.
Over 5 million copies of Black Ice have been shipped worldwide, combined with close to 5 million in catalog sold this year, the band are poised to sell over 10 million units this year alone.
By next week the sales of "Black Ice" are likely to surpass the total sales of "Stiff Upper Lip" worldwide.
Perfect timing for the band's World Tour, which kicks off tonight in Wilkes Barre, PA.
