Based on the most extensive research of AC/DC's touring history, undertaken by this website, the band will hit a milestone during the "Black Ice" US Tour: 2000 concerts.
Due to the lack of solid touring information during the years 1974/75 when the band played clubs and pubs in Australia, it is impossible to pin point exactly which concert will bear this number, but according to information available at this time, concert #2000 should take place in Fort Lauderdale, FL on December 20th 2008. What is certain is that this milestone will be reached at some point during the Black Ice tour.
It is interesting to note that the band has now played more concerts than even touring dinosaurs the Rolling Stones who, although coming close to that number, have not reached it yet according to research by their historian Felix Aeppli. So AC/DC has now outsold their heroes not only in worldwide album sales (AC/DC has sold some 150 Million albums, although recent press reports put that number at 200 Million) but also have hit the stage more often than the Jagger/Richards gang. The Rolling Stones have been together for 46 years, while AC/DC has been around for 35.
Details on the 2000+ AC/DC concerts are now available on this site, which was the first to publish an AC/DC touring history in 1997. The list has been revised extensively, and will include memorabilia and fan reviews.
