By Darren B., Martinsville, IN:
I remember this concert pretty well even though I don't remember the set list. I used to RUN (festival seating back then) to my favorite seats, dead center of the stage, first row down from the walk around. That was the aisle between the lower and upper levels. We would sit there and watch the crazy's knock each other down trying to get front row of the floor. Back then, the only extra of the stage show was the "Hells Bells Bell" and the "Cannons" for "For Those About To Rock". The shows were always pretty much the same back then, GREAT Rock and Roll. The thing that sticks out most about this show over the other times I saw AC/DC back then wasn't an AC/DC moment. It was an Yngwie Malmsteen (the SPECIAL guest) moment. In the middle of his set, he was twurling his guitar around a lot and he threw it up in the air once and DROPPED it hard on stage! It sounded like he blew out every amp and loudspeaker at Market Square Arena. He started stepping on footpedals trying to get the reverb to stop when all the lights went out. Finally after about 30 seconds the noise stopped and a few minutes later the house lights came on. He never came back out on stage. Then I remember it took an outstandingly long time before AC/DC came on to play. I know if anybody reads this that was actually there, they will remember that claim to fame in INDY that Yngwie Malmsteen made that night. I know every time since then I've heard his name, that little chuckle and grin happens because I'll never forget that one concert night.
