    Fan reviews:

    By Bondo, Chicago:
I got to attend this show because I worked at Flipside Records in Hoffman Estates and AC/DC appeared at our store and I met the head of security and he invited me to come to concert. Back stage and it was the beginning of my groupie life. It rocked! Great show and Alvin Lee ripped it up as backup gig.

    By Craig, Lake Zurich:
I was at the Friday Night August 4 show with my brothers Chuck and Curt, and my cousin Ricky. I was a mere 13 years old. I see and appreciate Bondo's review; however, I can tell you that Alvin Lee was the headliner with AC/DC as backup. AC/DC had just started touring in the states a year prior, whereas Alvin struck it big 10 years earlier at Woodstock. We were there to see Alvin. We were up front thanks to my sister Connie, who actually was the manager at Flipside in Arlington Heights (Possible you know her Bondo??) Of course we have grown to know and love the sounds of AC/DC, but at the time, we didn't take a liking to them - we wanted Alvin. Little did we know what they would become. I wish I could post a picture; I'm not sure how I got a camera in, in 1978, but I have a good one of Alvin jamming with my brothers in front of me.
