Being their first appearance in Fresno and maybe there first tour in the USA most people had never heard of this band. The rumor was that they were a bunch of gay punk rockers and at that time most people in Fresno hated punk rock about as much as they hated disco and gays. That being said these guys had the deck stacked against them before they ever made it on stage and we were there to see the headliner Aerosmith anyways. When they did come on Bon Scott was wasted, came out with this funny accent and started trying to say something but you just could not make out what he was saying. This is when the booing started. That pissed off Bon and the insults went back and forth. Seemed like they played maybe part of a song but then people in the audience started throwing stuff at the band and eventually booed them off the stage. This concert was along time ago and I was pretty fucked up but this is how I remembered the show. Caught AC/DC a couple of years after in Fresno at the Warner's Theatre and it was probably the best show of my life. Saw them again in 2000 in Vegas and they still had it.

Opening for Aerosmith, we didn't know who they were. They were awesome. Angus danced around like he was going to pull down his pants and whip it out. The girls in the front row loved it, until he turned around and mooned the crowd. People started booing and throwing things, until Angus got hit in the face with a wadded up cup. He grabbed the mic and said "f... you Fresno" then they walked off the stage. Aerosmith sucked, AC/DC was great. We wished they would come back out

I was there to see Aerosmith. The crowd was very rowdy. I had never heard of AC/DC, and neither had most of the audience, I think. They blew me away. I can't say the same for a lot of the crowd though. At one point, someone threw something that hit Angus. He stopped playing (but the rest of the band kept the rhythm going), pointed to the guy and called him out. "Hey you! F**k you!", or something like that. He was pissed off. Back then, they used to do this thing where Bon would carry Angus through the audience...keep in mind this was general admission...no seats on the arena floor at all, so it was a big, rowdy sea of wasted young people. Midway through their journey, I saw Angus turn and punch someone. Even with all that, I was impressed. Afterwards, I scoured stores looking for their records. All I could find was a couple of imports (which I sadly don't have anymore).

Ironically, Aerosmith came on and they were terrible. The crowd got more unruly as the show went on. Finally, after the (I think first) encore, someone on the floor lit a string of firecrackers. The lights immediately went up and the show was over. They didn't even play Dream On, from what I remember. Maybe that was supposed to be the final encore that they never got to.

I may have misremembered some of this, but I immediately became an AC/DC fan!

We went to see Aerosmith and AC/DC was opening for them. I have never heard of them, but I thought they Must be gay because of their name.

I don’t remember a lot, but because it was so long ago, but I remember the crowd didn’t like them and was throwing things at them. Somebody threw a frisbee and it landed on the drum set and the drummer had to stop playing. He threw the frisbee and went right back to playing like nothing happened.

Someone threw a bottle or cup or something and it hit Angus right in the mouth and he got enraged. He stopped playing and grabbed Bon Scott’s microphone and told the guy to come up on stage, but the guy wouldn’t do it. Then Angus said “if you can heave ‘em up here, we can heave ‘em back at ya!” He started playing again, but he went over to the left side of the stage where we were from that point on.

While Angus was playing, all this saliva was coming out of his mouth and flying in the air. At one point, this huge glob of saliva landed right in his eyes, and he had to stop playing for a second and wipe it off. It was really gross.

At one point, Angus turned his back to the audience bent over and slowly pulled his shorts down and mooned the audience. That little guy has got one hairy ass, heh!

I was totally blown away by Angus and his guitar playing and all of the antics he was doing, spinning around on the ground like curly from the Three Stooges and wearing that school boy outfit. He really put on a show!

Then the thing that really blew my mind is when he got on Bon Scott’s shoulders and they went out in the audience where we were and he played this long guitar solo and they were standing right in front of us just a few feet away from me I couldn’t believe it. That just blew my mind to be standing right next to him while he’s just going crazy on guitar.

I’ll never forget that. It is stuck with me for the rest of my life and it’s one of the most amazing things ever saw.
