  • 25 - 28: “Stiff Upper Lip” album released in Europe and Australia.

  • 29: “Stiff Upper Lip” released in the US and Canada.

  • 29: Angus, Malcolm & Brian perform an acoustic version of “You Shook Me All Night Long” live on the “Out To Lunch” show on K-ROCK in New York.

  • The album charts at #1 in Argentina, Austria, Germany, Finland and Sweden, #2 in France, Switzerland and Spain, #3 in Australia, #5 in Canada, Portugal and Czech Republic, #6 in Norway and Hungary, #7 in the US, #12 in the UK, #10 in Belgium, #11 in Denmark and #22 in Italy.

  • 6: “Stiff Upper Lip” vinyl edition released in Germany.

  • 8: “Stiff Upper Lip” released in Japan.

  • 10: Live appearance on MTV’s "AC/DC@MTV". The band plays “Stiff Upper Lip” and “Back In Black” in their first live TV performance in 23 years.

  • 14 - 15: The filming of the “Stiff Upper Lip” video in Tribecca in New York City. Directed by Andy Morahan. This is his first video for the band.

  • 18: Live appearance on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” filmed in New York. The band performs “Stiff Upper Lip” and “You Shook Me All Night Long”.

  • 20: Single, “Stiff Upper Lip – Hard As A Rock (Live) – Ballbreaker (Live)”, released in Europe.

  • 22: Inauguration of the first “Calle De AC/DC” (AC/DC Street) in Leganes, Madrid, Spain. Malcolm & Angus are present (as well as some 1,000 fans) and give a press conference.

  • “Stiff Upper Lip” is certified Platinum in Germany and Spain and Gold in France and Australia.

  April 00
  • 10: Single, “Stiff Upper Lip – Hard As A Rock (Live) – Ballbreaker (Live)”, released in Australia.

  May 00
  • Promo CD Single, “Satellite Blues”, released to radio in the US.

  • “Stiff Upper Lip” is certified Platinum in Europe and Gold in the US.

  • The filming of the “Satellite Blues” and “Safe In New York City” videos in Los Angeles, California. Both are directed by Andy Morahan.

  • 26: US Tour dates announced.

  • 26: Single, “Safe In New York City – Cyberspace – Back In Black (Live)”, released in Europe.

  July 00
  • Rehearsals in Grand Rapids, MI at the River City Studios and then at the DeltaPlex for full production rehearsals.

  • 17: Single, “Safe In New York City – Cyberspace – Back In Black (Live)”, released in Australia.

  • 1 - September 20: 1st leg of the US/Canadian Tour, 33 dates. Supported by Slash’s Snakepit.

  • Promo Single, “Meltdown Summer Sampler” “Meltdown – Back In Black (Live) – Ballbreaker (Live) – Hard As A Rock (Live) – Whole Lotta Rosie (Live)”, released to radio in the US.

  • 15: AC/DC is inducted into the Hollywood Rock Walk. In a rare “award winning” ceremony they attend, their hands are marked in the cement at the Guitar Center on Hollywood Blvd.

  October 00
  • 2: Single, “Satellite Blues – Whole Lotta Rosie (Live) – Let There Be Rock (Live)”, released in Europe.

  • 9: DVD, “No Bull – Live Plaza De Toros De Las Ventas, Madrid”, released in Europe.

  • 14 - December 14: European Tour, 39 dates covering Belgium, France, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Holland, Switzerland, Austria, U.K. and Spain. Supported by Huge Baby then Backyard Babies.

  • 17: The entire CD Catalogue (minus “Stiff Upper Lip”) is reissued in Europe in card sleeve/vinyl replica format.

  • 30: Live TV appearance on French TV Program “Nulle Part Ailleurs” on Canal+. The band performs 5 tracks (“Stiff Upper Lip”, “Highway To Hell”, “Back In Black”, “Satellite Blues” and “T.N.T.”).

  • 31: “Box Set” released in Europe. 17 CD box set includes the entire CD Catalogue (minus “Stiff Upper Lip) plus “Live From The Atlantic Studios” in card sleeve/vinyl replica format.

  December 00
  • 13: “If You Want Blood You’ve Got It”, “Highway To Hell”, “Back In Black”, “For Those About To Rock We Salute You”, “Flick Of The Switch”, “The Razors Edge”, “Ballbreaker” and “Live (Special Collector’s Edition)” are reissued in Japan in card sleeve/vinyl replica format.
